It wasn’t all willpower that made me stop. When your mom comes into your room to nag you to get off your ass and get some fresh air/exercise, every 5 minutes, in a shrill voice, there’s a point where you just say ‘ok, fuck this shit, I’m done for today’ and log off to do some other shit, like play the DS.

I’ve also found myself rather impressed with Steam. I remember back in the day when it was like, WTF is with this Steam shit? I haven’t dabbled in it much at all, and only lately have I looked at it closer – specifically looking at L4D.

Nevertheless, my box and manual whoredom currently overpowers any digital distribution. And the local game stores here haven’t seemed to devolve into the situation you have described, Thimble, unless you were using a semi-hyperbole.

On the front of the settlers game is that a split pic with the right side having an atom bomb going off with a knight standing in front? I didn’t know you could buy a nuke with just 37 wood, 16 ore, 27 sheep and 22 brick.

Damn i didn’t even know about this PC Live version of Xbox Live. I always saw the Games For Windows brand tag at the top of some PC Games but never thought twice about it.

And about Steam, i’m really impressed with what it’s become. It’s sad but i think most of my game purchases in the future will be from steam or some other online portal. The local games shop pretty much only sells top 10 PC games and then the rest of the wall space is dedicated to console games.
